Briar Creek Bridge Art
The art by Jim Gallucci, who has created several other Charlotte landmarks, is being fabricated and is scheduled to be installed soon. The sculpture will be on both sides of Central Avenue at the Briar Creek bridge. The second photo shows new concrete bridge sides that the art railing will sit upon.

Beautiful! I can't wait to see it on the bridge!
the latest on this delayed project is that CDOT plans to begin bridge sidewalks and crash barrier in mid-Nov. 2007 with 60-70 days for completion, then the art goes on top of that.
Latest word on this is that approval by City Council is expected Mon. 1/14/07 with completion by June, 2007.
Work is underway on the bridge! Completion due by June, 2008.
